Non-custodial by design

Trotters never holds your funds. Payments use Cashu ecash tokens that move directly between customer and provider. There is no Trotters wallet sitting between you and your money.

Provider fees are collected at the point of payment — not by holding funds in escrow. This means even if Trotters went offline tomorrow, your money would still be yours.

Identity verification

All UK-based providers complete identity verification before they can accept tasks. Verified identities are cryptographically attested so they cannot be forged.

Customer identity is optional — you can use Trotters with just a Nostr keypair. Your real identity is never shared with providers unless you choose to share it.

Encrypted communications

Messages between you and your provider are encrypted end-to-end using NIP-44. Trotters cannot read your conversations. Task metadata on relays uses ephemeral events that are not stored permanently.

Open protocol

Trotters is built on the TROTT open protocol. Your reputation, your provider profile, and your transaction history are portable. If you ever want to leave, you take everything with you.
